Summary
Tin plate clockwork ostrich attached via a metal brace to a yellow and red post cart which is supported on two red spoked wheels. Sitting on top of the post cart is a black postman wearing a blue uniform. In his left hand he holds a thread the other end of which is looped around the ostrich's neck. On either side of the post cart is a printed or painted white envelope. A key (attached to the clockwork mechanism inside) protrudes from the left hand of the post cart as you look at it from the front. A lid, marked 2VLV on the top of the cart lifts up. There is also a narrow slot for posting letters in the back of the cart.
