Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Arnold Warren by British (English) School, inscribed: "Sir Arnold Warren, KT", and in a different hand, "Leicestershire Ano Dom 1624". A three-quarter-length portrait of a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, grey hair, bear and moustache, wearing a black embroidered doublet and hose, with white lace ruff and lace cuffs with a gold decorated waist-band, his right hand resting on his gloves on a table, his left hand at his side.
Provenance
Acquired from 10th Lord Vernon in lieu of death-duties after the death of Francis Lawrence William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon (1889 -1963) and transferred to the National Trust in 1967 through the National Land Fund
