Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Man, British (English) School, circa 1700. A half-length portrait, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in a long light-brown wig, wearing a pink coat buttoned with a jewel, and a white cravat, his clue cloak id draped over his right shoulder. Presumably a member of the Massingberd family.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
