Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Mary Elton, Mrs James Heywood of Maristow (1706-1755) by Michael Dahl (1656-1743). Inscription....... A semi-painted oval portrait of a young woman, half-length, facing, head slightly inclined to the right, gazing at spectator. Her brown hair is dressed high on her head with largs curls. She wears a blue, yellow-lined, wrap-over gown over a white chemise, with a pink cloak worn over her left arm. She was the daughter of Sir Abraham Elton, 2nd Bt and Abigail Bayly and married James Heywood of Maristow, Devon, England.
