Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Edmund Harry Elton, 8th Bt (1846-1920) by Emmeline Deane (fl.1879-1934), signed and dated 1891. A portrait Sir Edmund Elton, 8th Bt as a middle-aged man, three-quarter-length, seated at a potter's wheel, turned to the right, painting a pottery vase the brush in his right hand the left hand holding the wheel. Short hair, long moustache but otherwise clean shaven. He is wearing an apron over a white overall with brown jacket seen beneath. White gauze curtain behind him on the left and centre and a curtain to the right pulled back to reveal two more pots or glass jars on a white cloth
