Summary
A set of eleven items of bedroom textiles of white cotton; striped floral brocade. The set consists of one bedhead cover, four window curtains, two bed curtains, one end of bed valance; two side of bed valances, and one linen band. a) and b) Pockets, self fabric and trimmed with white cotton bobble (Pom-Pom) braid 35 mm machine and hand sewn; hemmed on four sides; corners cut at bottom for posts; two eyelets for posts; tapes for securing to board (originally six either side, one missing); two pockets a) attached b) detached. Bleached undyed cotton warp and weft, plain, twill. And weft brocading. Loom width 1390 mm (54.3/4'). Repeat 165 mm. Drop x 195 mm. Two vertical stripes of scrolling stems 135 mm and 60 mm. White cotton bobble/pompom braid 35 mm. English manufacture circa 1860.
