Oil painting on canvas, A Child going to fetch Water by Richard Westall RA (Hertford 1765 - London 1836), signed and dated bottom right: R W 1796. A small girl standing in landscape setting, looking to the left,, wearing brown skirt and brownish jacket and holding a pitcher in her left hand. To the left a cottage. Companion to 'A Child at a Cottage Door'.
2nd Lord Berwick collection. 1847 Catalogue of Paintings, p.17; 1861 Inventory p.223. 'Heirloom' 1947 Probate Val.no.58; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
