Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Mr Shaw, Secretary to Richard Hill, British (English) School, circa 1710-20. A three-quarter-length portrait, turned to right, head three-quarters to right, wearing a brown coat, red cloak over left arm, and grey wig, his left hand in his coat, his right hand on a pillar; window, right; standing in front of a window to the right. Mr Shaw was one of the secretaries of Richard Hill of Hawkstone, statesman and diplomatist during the reigns of William III, Anne and George I.

Attingham collection. 1913 Inventory p.90; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
