Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sunset Landscape by César van Loo (Paris 1743 – Paris 1821), signed and dated Cesar Van Loo / fecit Gen[ova] 1794. An extensive and flat Italianate landscape with three slender trees at the right; in the foreground a cow drinking from a trough and several figures around stone washing basin. Companion picture to 'Landscape with Ravine and Bridge'.
