Oil painting on canvas, Classical Ruins at Sunset by Jean-Pierre Pequignot (Beauame-les-Dames 1765 – Naples 1807), signed on side of bench:: J P Pequignot à Naples[JP in monogram] 1800. Roman figures rest on a stone bench in the foreground before a bridge with staircase leading to terrace, classical buildings on the far riverbank and distant mountains.
