Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Madonna and Child after Parmigianino (Parma 1503 – Casalmaggiore 1540), 17th century. An oval framed half-length of the Madonna, her back to the spectator, turned to the left and holding a child wrapped in drapery over her shoulder, his left leg crossed above her left arm and his right leg below the same arm.. Wearing her hair dressed and in a gown.

Attingham collection. 1847 Catalogue of Paintings, p.10; 1861 Inventory p.215; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
