A mahogany and inlaid serving table, or side table, English, late 18th century. The rectangular top with line-inlaid edge above a front frieze centred by a flame-veneered oval within a banded border and on a raised tablet, between two crossbanded frieze reserves. The legs tapering, square-section and moulded, headed by inlaid paterae and terminating in tapering square feet.
Believed to be Attingham collection. Possibly bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and partial contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) and transferred to the National Trust on 15th May 1953.
