Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady in a Plum-coloured Robe, British (English) School, circa 1620/30. A three-quarter-length portrait of a mature woman, seated turned to the left, gazing at spectator, her right hand gesturing to the left, with pointed index finger, the other hand holding a brown scarf at her bosom, wearing a rose-pink dress over a white chemise, with a brown gauze scarf draped on her right shoulder and across her lap, and an ochre drape on her seat to the right; indistinct interior walls, large window on left showing distant landscape with two trees and clouds.
