Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Mrs William Gorton by Sir William Beechey RA (Burford 1753 – Hampstead 1839). Portrait of a mature woman, three-quarter length, facing, head turned slightly to the right, gazing to the right, wearing a black belted dress, black buckle to the left, with white frilled-lace V-neck; grey curly hair, tied with a yellow band/turban, small gold necklet, her right hand, wearing a coral bracelet, lies on her lap. A red drape hangs to the left.
