Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Charles Phelips (1794-1869), British (English) School, circa 1830. A portrait of the son of Reverend Charles Phelips (1765-1834) and Mary Blackmore (d.1816) as a middle-aged man, three quarter length, standing, facing, head and gaze turned to right, his left hand resting on the stump of a tree and wearing a black coat and trousers, cream waistcoat, white shirt and black stock. Landscape setting, with a stream running from left to right, trees behind and a distant view. In 1820 married Caroline Elizabeth Taylor the daughter of James Taylor.
