Summary description
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Calverley (1604-1650/1), British (English) School, 1638, inscribed: top right: AE: S: 34/1638; with 18th C inscription bottom right: HENRY. CALVERLEY./Nat.1604. Denat. Janry. 1. 1661.; and on the back: Henry Calverley great grandfather of Sr Walter Blackett. A painted oval head-and shoulders portrait of a man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the specrator, wearing black with wide lawn collar.
