Summary
Bowl, porcelain, fluted with flat everted rim, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c. 1715-1725; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron-red enamel with gold ("Chinese Imari "palette), painted in the centre with a large blossom, and around the sides four growing plants, chrysanthemum or peony, each with a lengthy vine and foliage, the rim with a band of continuous flowerheads and foliage within line bands, the exterior similarly decorated.
