Two bottles, porcelain, of compressed bottle shape with penta-lobed base with elegant narrow neck, made in Arita, Japan, 1700-1799; decorated in underglaze blue and polychrome overglaze enamels, the body with a continuous scrolling vine with leaves and peony blossoms, the neck with a dense design of 'karakusa' scrollwork.
