Summary
Small saucer, porcelain, after a metalware shape, with everted rim and small central ring forming a cup holder, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c.1690-1699; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a rabbit or hare in the centre, framed by a mother teaching her son in a garden, the rim with beribboned auspicious symbols, the underside with four Chinese character mark within concentric rings, and four auspicious symbols around the rim.
