Summary
Small saucer, porcelain, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c. 1695-1710; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, painted with eight radiating panels of a woman holding scented Osmanthus sprays (wish for success in the Imperial examinations) alternating with flowers, the rim with a chevron band; the underside with Chinese character within blue concentric rings, and the sides with four beribboned auspicious motifs.
