Summary
Bowl (wan), porcelain, deep with flaring rim, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c.1680-1699; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, the sides painted with a continuous pattern of archaic dragons holding onto branches of flaming lotus, above a stylised band of foliage around the rim, the interior with a central medallion of a running archaic dragon amid lotus scrolls within concentric ring border, the rim with a wide band of three archaic dragons among foliate scrolls and lotus, between line bands; the underside of base with six character Kangxi period (1662-1722) reign mark, Da QIng Kang xi Nian zhi (Made in the Great Qing Dynasty of Kangxi).
