Summary
Bottle or rosewater sprinkler, porcelain, of globular form with a bulbous knop and tapering flared neck, after an Indian metalware form (see NT 1333858), made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c. 1695-1710; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, precious objects, including a cloth covered qin (stringed instrument) and perhaps a board for playing go (weiqi), beneath a chevron band at the neck base, and other symbols of the Eight Precious Treasures (Babao), including a jade chime, the neck with brown dressed iron oxide slip.
