Summary
Four dishes, porcelain, saucer-shape, made in Arita, Japan, c. 1700-1720; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red and green overglaze enamels and gold, the centre with floral sprigs within a wide circle, issuing peonies, prunus or plum and chrysanthemum from rockwork, a narrow band around the rim of blue scrollwork and flower heads; the underside with three blue and red sprays, and an iron-red spray withing a blue concentric circle.
