This colourful counterpane was handmade by the ladies of the Amory family almost 100 years ago. Made of coloured wools appliquéd to a linen base. Weekend guests were invited to add a few stitches to the quilt, a sort of living visitors’ book.
A counterpaine of needlework in coloured wools, displaying a design of flowering trees in vases, together with birds, including peacocks and small animals appliqued to a linen base.
