Summary
Oil painting on canvas (oval), An Unknown Elderly Lady, British (English) School, early 19th century. An oval half-length portrait of an elderly lady, tpo left, wearing a green dress with a white shawl ober her shoulders and crossed in front and a bonnet tied beneath her chin with a ribbon. Possibly identifiable with Margaret Denman, Lady Croft, wife of 6th Bt, or more probably Mrs Thomas Denman who died in the 1820s at a great age (or even her mother, Mrs Brodie).
