Oil painting on canvas, Katherine Ramsay, Lady MacKenzie, attributed to Sir Henry Raeburn, circa 1778. A half-length portrait of Katherine Ramsey (the daughter of Robert Ramsay, wife of Sir Alexander MacKenzie, 6th Baronet of Coul), seated, turned to the left looking to right and facing the spectator. She is wearing a dark coloured dress with white detail to the neck. She has a white headscarf around her head with dark curly hair showing. Dark background, the back of her chair is visible as is a red curtain. Framed in gilt wood frame. Includes a wooden plaque which reads ‘Katherine Ramsey. Wife of Sir Alexander MacKenzie, 6th Baronet of Coul. Grand Aunt of Sir Wm Ramsey-Fairfax, Baronet. By Sir Henry Raeburn’. On loan from Sir Edmund Fairfax-Lucy (b. 1949)
