Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Madonna and Child, after Sir Anthony Van Dyck (Antwerp 1599 - London 1641). Full length portrait of the Madonna and Child. She is seated with a baby in her lap. They are looking directly at each other. The naked child, with blonde curly hair, has its right arm outstretched to her face and she has her right hand held to her breast. Her left arm is holding the child. She is wearing a brown head scarf and a red dress. She has blue material and a white blanket draped over her knee. Framed in simple, carved giltwood frame. Hanging from chains The original is in the Wallace Collection (RCIN 404639).
