Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Elizabeth Urrey, Mrs Richard Lucy (d. after 1682), British (English) School, circa 1658. A three-quarter-length portrait of Elizabeth Urrey positioned to the left with a direct gaze with the spectator. She is wearing a black dress with large white lace sleeves. A white lace collar is fitted with a decorative brooch at her bust, the brooch has a square stone surmounted by a cherub and features a pearl droplet. Her long dark hair is in ringlets with hair jewellery visible. She also wears a pearl necklace and drop earrings. She holds a fan, slightly open, in her left hand and her right arm rests against a table. A vase with flowers sits on the table in front of a stone pillar on a plinth. A curtain is visible on the left. In a large giltwood frame. Companion to portrait of Richard Lucy (NT 533838). Elizabeth Urrey, daughter of John Urrey of Thorley, Isle of Wight married Richard Lucy of Charlecote.
