One of a set of two Hepplewhite-style country chairs, circa 1790. With drop-in seat in dark red horsehair cloth. With arched top rail, the pierced back splat of stylised wheat sheaf form, flanked by shaped uprights. On square-section tapering front legs joined to the rear splayed square-section legs with a H-stretcher, the rear legs joined by a single stretcher.
Bequest of Miss Milburn. Formerly MGP/F/1c at Mount Grace Priory. Transferred to FASR 25.5.07. Reupholstered in 2007.
