Summary
Oil painting on canvas (circular), The Life Guards and the Horse Guards on the Long Walk, Windsor Great Park, British (English) School, early 20th century. The Long Walk running down the centre leading at the far end with a view of Windsor Castle. Two horsemen of the Life Guards in the front and platoons of Horse Guards behind, short trees on the left, and very tall trees on the right, on the left and centre, a blue sky with clouds. Note on reverse 'Published as a Christmas card of the Life Guards 1927, refurbished from this picture'. Copy of Christmas card stuck to back.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
