Summary
Oil painting on panel, Parakeet with Grapes and Hollyhocks by Philip Reinagle RA (Scotland 1749 – Chelsea 1833). A parakeet standing on a brown ledge, facing left in profile, eating a grape from a large bunch on the left, vine leaves and tendrils covering the ledge, at the far right some pink hollyhocks, above is a blue sky with clouds. Label on back 'Fine Art Society, New Bond Street, 1949 No.48'.
Provenance
Possibly bought from the Fine Art Society, New Bond Street in 1949(48) according to a label on the back; bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
