Summary
Oil painting on panel, A Moonlit Bay, with Boatmen, seen through a Wooded Glade, attributed to Sebastian Pether (1790 – Battersea 1844). In the foreground a rock in the form of an arch covered with vegetation, beneath which fishermen prepare their boat at the edge of a moonlit sea.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
