Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady, British (English) School, circa 1670. A three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, with dressed curled hair, facing with her body turned to the right. Wearing a low-cut crimson dress with slashed sleeves revealing a white silk chemise; her right sleeve is adorned with a string of pearls terminating in a jewelled clasp. A green cloak is draped over her left shoulder; her left arm is supported and her right rests in her lap.
