Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Vansittart (1784-1848) by Henry William Pickersgill RA (1782-1875). A three-quarter-length portrait of a man, seated, facing, head turned slightly to right, with short greying hair and brown side whiskers, wearing a fur-lined black coat and black trousers, the former with fur-trimmed collar, cuffs and front edge, white shirt with standing collar and black stock. His right hand rests on his thigh, his left holds a pair of kid gloves; his left elbow on a tree stump; panoramic views on the left and a dark sky.
