A three-quarter-length portrait of a pilgrim in Jerusalem or Santiago de Compostela, possibly a member of the Whitgreave family, namely Francis, turned to the left. Wearing blue robes, decorated with a scallop shell of Saint James, holding a staff in his right hand. Near eastern town in background.
