Llanerchaeron, Ceredigion (Accredited Museum)
Rather a bizarre object, but it does reflect the passion the family had for their country pursuits. Luckily, otters can still be seen swimming in the river not far from the house.
An otter, whole, mounted as a footstool - the full sized otter forming the cushion. The stuffed otter is in a curled pose and set on the wooden base.
An item from the Llanerchaeron collection, left to the National Trust in the will of John Powell Ponsonby Lewes in 1989
