Summary
Bronze on marble plinth, a recumbent lion, French or Italian, 19th century. A bronze figurine of a recumbent lion mounted on a black marble plinth. The lion’s head, rendered with a long wavy mane, is upright in an alert pose, its tail curled around hip bone. This is a desk or table-top ornament which may have once been part of a pair.
