Caption
The youthful, almost Baptist, is here shown indicating the distant figure of Christ with his right hand. This is a variant version of a reputedly autograph original by Schedoni, found in Tunisia in 1979, and is now in the Bedarida collection in Rome. Various other versions exist. It was bought in Rome, in 1787, by Sir Abraham Hume, who collected many of the outstanding Old Masters that formerly hung at Belton.
