Summary
Bronze medal, Emperor Napoleon III, Emperor of France (1808-1873) commemorating the Paris Exhibition of 1867 by François Joseph Hubert Ponscarme (Belmont-lès-Darney 1827 - Malakoff 1903). Presented to Disraeli. Obverse with head of Napoleon III facing left, inscribed 'Napoleon III Empereur' and with maker's name 'H. Ponscarme F.' Reverse has two cherubs holding plague inscribed 'Benjamin Disraeli' above an eagle. Further inscriptions on reverse 'Exposition universelle de MDCCCLXVII a Paris', 'pour services rendus' and 'H. Ponscarme'. The rim of the medal is inscribed with a small symbol and then the word 'cuivre'. Part of a set (see NT/HUG/V/31a-d).
