Summary
Oil painting on card (?), King Charles I (1600-1649), after Sir Anthony Van Dyck (Antwerp 1599 - London 1641), 1825. A head-and-shoulders portrait, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in armour and lace ruff. Copied in 1825 after the portrait in the Pitti Palace, Floence, purchased by Disraeli (probably when in Florence the following year) for presentation to his father, author of 'The Life and Character of Charles I'.
