Summary description

Oil painting on canvas, Prince Charles-Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, later Napoleon III, Emperor of France (1808-1873) by James Godsell Middleton (fl.1826 – 1872). Full-length portrait, standing, turned slilghtly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in evening dress with broad red sash across chest. Right hand rests on table, left hand held at waist height. Two pillars behind.
