Roll of painted frieze, by John Hungerford Pollen, 1860-61. A Pollen design of a woman and a bird. From a mix of interlaced motifs drawn from the manuscripts in the Library with Middle Eastern textile patterns.
Part of the Lothian Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Philip, 11th Marquess of Lothian (1882-1940).
