Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Favourite Horse of Lord Charles Vere Ferrers Townshend (1785 - 1853), British (English) School, circa 1815/25. A dun horse standing, facing left, its head turned slightly towards the right and looking out at the spectator. There is a blaze of white from its forehead to the end of its nose. There is a building with a thatched roof, possibly a stable, at the far right and a flat heathland landscape stretches out far into the distance. The sky is filled with white-grey cloud.
