Summary
Oil painting on canvas, King Charles I (1600-1649), British (English) School, 17th century. A painted oval, head-and-shoulders portrait, inscribed in bottom left corner 'Charles I'. A painted oval portrait, head and shoulders, slightly right, wearing a blue ermine lined coat, gold embroidered, falling lace collar and wearing the Order of the Garter.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury in part payment of death-duties from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877-1951) and transferred to the National Trust in 1957
