Binding: original eighteenth-century gold-tooled brown goatskin over pasteboards; sewn on six supports; smooth spine; elaborate gold-tooled frame design on covers, outer frame of a wide floral and foliate roll tool mitred at the corners with and to an inner frame of a thinner floral and foliate roll tool, floral cornerpiece stamps, small floral and decorative stamps in middle panels, rectangular cartouche stamps in central panel (on front cover Moses with the Ten Commandments within laurel wreath and text '[...] deinde Sünde', on back cover King David playing the harp within floral decoration held by two angels and text '[Kind] für [...]'); gilt roll pattern along board edges; gilt spine divided into seven panels with fillet, roll and floral stamp decoration; gilt edges; green headbands; brocade paper (Brokatpapier) endpapers, gold bird and floral design over green paper. Rubbed corners and spine, tail of spine split and lifting, weak joints. In brown buckram book box.
