Provenance: manuscript inscription at foot of front fly-leaf: "Pl. 3." [this is written in the hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: eighteenth-century full mottled calf; sewn onto three supports, with five raised bands; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine, with fillet, roll and stamp decoration; brown goatskin label with gilt title on spine. Red burnished textblock edges.
