Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Sixteenth-century calf over boards on four raised cords, remains of gilt spine tooling, double blind fillet and floral cornerpieces on covers, gilt roll on board edges, red and brown sprinkled edges. Spine label missing.
