Illegible short manuscript inscription on verso of front endpaper. Manuscript marginal annotations and underscoring of text throughout first part, all very faded. Faded manuscript inscription at head of title page of second part: "Ex lib ... [illegible]". Binding: eighteenth-century calf; single gilt fillet on board edges; gold-tooled spine with gilt title on brown goatskin label. Gilt marbled edges. Comb-marbled endpapers.
