Oil painting on canvas, Entrance of the Procession into Melbourne on the 10th May 1876 by John Gelder (fl.1876). The picture shows a procession of mounted guards proceeding along streets lined with onlookers. Banners and large notices 'Welcome/Long Life and Happiness' are at the road sides. a label on the reverse of stretcher; 'Entrance of the Procession into Melbourne on the 10th May 1876/Painted by John Gelder J.P. of the Bradford Art Society'.
