Recto: Label below painting in capitals with the following - G. VINCENT. Verso: 1) the top label reads (COUNTRY GENTLEMAN. 24 FEB. 1894), 'A NORFOLK RIVER'. (NO. 103), by George Vincent, may be commended to the attention of the admirers of those / artists (this section is on a newspaper cutting). Verso: 2)Middle label reads - (newspaper cutting GLOBE. 20 FEB 1894), among other good works of the Norwich School are / James Stark's HOBBEMA-LIKE 'View in Wind-or / Park'. George Vincent's 'A Norfolk River,' and / an admirably fresh and luminous small sea study / the yacht by 'John Coswall'. / (newspaper cutting BURY POST. 6 MARCH 1894), another of his once prominant sociality, George / Vincent, is represented by a very important and successful 'View of Norwich', with the graceful cathedral / spire in the distance and 'A Norfolk River'.
